Conversion between Degrees API, Specific Gravity, Pounds per Gallon and Kilos per Liter
The scale of Degrees API is a measurement of how much petroleum products weigh in relation to water. If the petroleum product is lighter than water, it will float and its API Gravity will be more than 10. Those products that have an API Gravity less than 10 are heavier than water and will sink to the bottom.
