After months of waiting for my original motor I've located another one, actually a whole front clip, in the parts yards of Iquique, Chile. My body guy went there and picked this up. Due to some paperwork errors, most of it will take two omore weeks to get here, but he was able to bring in the sub-frame and some of the loose parts.
The engine and front clip will provide me with the 1.3 liter SPI engine from a 1992 or 1993 Rover Mini, automatic transmission, air conditioning, and doors with roll up windows. This will give me a better floor and lateral support as well. The body part of the clip is actually a 1984.
Since I have purchased a wooden dash, I will only use some parts of this dashboard assembly.
My first job here is to clean these things up and leave them with him so he can get started on the fusion of the bodys when they get here. Here you can see that progress, leaving the sub-frame painted and the aluminum parts polished.
I will now have a lot of extra parts to sell off when I finish (unless another Mini shows up). This front clip came from Japan, so it is right-hand-drive.
